About Me

Part of my preparation to be a therapist includes 20 years of military service, 14 of which were spent “providing the strength” as a recruiting and retention specialist in the U.S. Army.

As for formal education, I earned a B.S. in interdisciplinary studies, an M.A. in urban education, and an M.S. in clinical mental health counseling.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, a Certified ATOD Prevention Specialist (CPS), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

I’ve worked in community settings, corporate settings, schools, and private practice.

So, I’m fully equipped and ready to support you in this journey.

My approach to therapy is strategically eclectic.

It blends Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I’m also fully trained in Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I love to travel with my husband and share new experiences. Cruising is our thing!

When home, I love to be outside. Gardening totally relaxes me!
